Letter Poem
Hello! I hope this finds you in
Good health and I wish you
Well. My mask needs a good washing,
And, well, the laundry is piling high.
I never think to wash it when I have time,
There is so much else to do. Time is
Uncertain in its passing. There is only
Yesterday, Today, and The Day.
The Day is important, assignments are due,
Appointments are to be attended,
But I’m just not quite sure when
The Day is. Months stopped existing,
Too. Februember was the quarantine month,
That I know. Now I’m back at school,
And everything is six feet apart.
The desks, the chairs, the spaces in line.
Everything is floating away from
Everything else. I hope you are close
To the people near you.
